Our History: A Great Canadian Success Story
In 1957, Dennis and his wife, Eileen, decided to move to Canada from England to start a family. They initially lived in Kingston, where Dennis, an avid musician, was a founding member of the Limestone City Jazz Band playing clarinet, soprano saxophone and piano.
His insurance career began in in 1960, when a friend introduced him to the insurance business, and he started to work for a life insurance company.
By 1965 he had progressed from sales representative to supervisor to manager. After thirteen years in management, Dennis decided he wanted to work directly with clients, and decided to start his own brokerage company out of the basement of the family home in Waterloo, Ontario.
This took great courage, as they now had 3 children under the age of 8, and only 6 months of income saved up to pay their expenses.

His objective was to put his client's interests first and foremost and he quickly obtained a reputation as an ethical, client focused insurance professional, willing to spend time in long telephone calls with clients, resolving their insurance requirements and visiting them to make presentations to them and their staff.
While this meant many long hours of work, it paid off as the business continued to grow. Eileen handled administrative and operational tasks, while Dennis focussed on creating exclusive insurance programs for various professional associations for all of their insurance protection needs including life, disability, home and auto insurance.
Dennis and Eileen were also actively involved in their community and church in various activities such as helping newcomers to Canada find homes in the Waterloo region, delivering food baskets to families' homes at Christmas time, and playing music at church.
Dennis and Eileen are true entrepreneurs and a great Canadian success story. They had a passion for what they believed in, were willing to take on considerable financial risk, and stayed true to their values as they continued to grow their business.
